Safety

The 500e has standard whiplash protection, which use a specially designed headrest to protect the driver and front passenger from whiplash. During a rear-end collision, the whiplash protection system moves the headrests forward to prevent neck and spine injuries. The Mustang Mach-E doesn’t offer a whiplash protection system.

Both the 500e and the Mustang Mach-E have standard driver and passenger frontal airbags, front side-impact airbags, driver knee airbags, side-impact head airbags, front seatbelt pretensioners, four-wheel antilock brakes, traction control, electronic stability systems to prevent skidding, crash mitigating brakes, daytime running lights, lane departure warning systems, rearview cameras, driver alert monitors, available blind spot warning systems, front parking sensors and rear cross-path warning.

Warranty

The 500e comes with a full 4-year/50,000-mile basic warranty, which covers the entire car and includes free 24-hour roadside assistance. The Mustang Mach-E’s 3-year/36,000-mile basic warranty expires 1 year or 14,000 miles sooner.

Tires and Wheels

The 500e’s tires provide better handling because they have a lower 45 series profile (height to width ratio) that provides a stiffer sidewall than the Mustang Mach-E’s standard 55 series tires.

Suspension and Handling

For better maneuverability, the 500e’s turning circle is 6.6 feet tighter than the Mustang Mach-E’s (31.5 feet vs. 38.1 feet).

Chassis

The Fiat 500e may be more efficient, handle and accelerate better because it weighs about 1450 to 2000 pounds less than the Ford Mustang Mach-E.

The 500e is 3 feet, 6.6 inches shorter than the Mustang Mach-E Select/Premium, making the 500e easier to handle, maneuver and park in tight spaces. The 500e is 3 feet, 8 inches shorter than the Mustang Mach-E Rally.

The 500e is 8.1 inches narrower than the Mustang Mach-E, making the 500e easier to handle and maneuver in traffic.

Cargo Capacity

A low lift-over trunk design makes loading and unloading the 500e easier. The 500e’s trunk lift-over height is 27.4 inches, while the Mustang Mach-E’s liftover is 30.6 inches.
